These cells were isolated by a density centrifugation, the differential migration during the centrifugation resulted in the formation of different layers. The layer of PBMC was found at the interface between the plasma and the density gradient medium. Therefore, this layer was isolated, washed and cryopreserved at -80⁰C.

In this study, we want first to determine what genes are associated with clopidogrel response in Caribbean Hispanic patients and how the variability of these genes alter the effectiveness of clopidogrel treatment. The second part of this study is aimed at testing a method to guide the patient’s dual anti-platelet therapy (DAPT) using their clinical data, genetic test results and the results of a test to measure their platelet activity (PRU, using the VerifyNow equipment).
